Req id:  18526

Waterloo, ON, CA

As the Information Company, our mission at OpenText is to create software solutions and deliver services that redefine the future of digital. Be part of a winning team that leads the way in Enterprise Information Management.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager who is passionate about building products that customers love. You will join a team of Product Managers dedicated to delivering continuous improvements to OpenText Content Server.

Content Server is the foundation technology behind OpenText Content Suite Platform, Extended ECM, and optional products which reach into leading applications such as SAP and Microsoft Office.  Content Suite is an Enterprise-grade solution used by thousands of major organizations, on-premise and in the cloud, and supports an ecosystem with numerous consultants and 3rd party application developers. Our solutions have a wide range of capabilities including Document and Records Management, Workflow and Search.  Content Suite is a major product line for OpenText, with hundreds of developers in locations around the world, generating a significant share of OpenText revenue.

The immediate opportunity is a Lead Product Management position working with multiple development teams that are focused on core product innovation, developer tools, APIs and the Developer Experience.  A key topic is extensibility for cloud deployments - to provide modern cloud APIs and an extension concept for partners and customers.  Development teams are located in Waterloo, Europe and India. You will work with other Product Managers, R&D, partners and internal stakeholders such as Professional Services to drive the design, development, and roll-out of components and products which deliver value.

You are great at:

  • Interacting globally with key internal and external stakeholders to understand customer needs, share expertise and build awareness and understanding.
  • Staying on top of market trends, technology advances and competitive offerings.
  • Driving a compelling strategy, vision, and roadmap as a key component of the larger product suites which rely on Content Server.
  • Balancing Agile development methods against long-term planning to meet strategic goals and customer needs.
  • Working closely with stakeholders in many departments to negotiate and deliver according to roadmap and business plan with short time-to-market windows.

What it takes:

  • Experience in understanding customer’s business problems and translating them into actionable elements.
  • Proven ability in managing a successful product through its entire lifecycle from both a technical perspective as well as a business perspective.
  • Experience in the agile software development of enterprise software, including the ability to manage and prioritize a structured backlog with complex technical dependencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ideally, have a working knowledge of OpenText Content Suite or background working with information management applications.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred, with the ability to have intelligent conversations about full-stack web development
