Overview:
The Manager, Telecom has management responsibility of, and provides leadership to, the personnel in the Telco support group. The Telco Support group provides day to day support of the systems and services that provide our FAX, Voice, E-mail and SMS service to OpenText customers . The Telco Support group has responsibilities for provisioning, deliverability, routing, carrier relations and problem management. The position also takes direction/assignments from the Vice President of Telco to support the organization’s goals and objectives. This direction will include project management responsibilities for internally supported operations projects and special customer projects in addition to the defined responsibilities of the group.
What You Will Do:
- Monitor, guide and support the day-to-day activities of the Telco Support group globally for geographies across North America, APAC, EMEA, LATAM.
- Hold scheduled group meetings to review progress, status and updates on weekly activities and assigned projects
- Participate directly in carrier reviews and carrier cost negotiations
- Perform project management responsibilities for operations assigned projects by scheduling and chairing meetings, tracking project status and reporting status to the business.
- Schedule and chair meetings with other groups to aid the Telco Support group in executing their job and responsibilities.
- Attend operations, and other organization’s meetings, where the Telco Support group support and/or knowledge is required.
- Provide regular updates to the Vice President Technology Services on all projects and major problems encountered by the group
- Maintain an open and positive working atmosphere for the group
What You’ll Bring:
- Global Telecom & Wireless services experience, specifically for the geographies of North America, EMEA, APAC, LATAM
- Extensive knowledge of the systems and services that are deployed to provide OpenText FAX, Voice, E-mail, and SMS services.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 10 years of knowledge and experiences in Telecom or message switching Business
- 8-10 years of Management experiences in the Telecom or message switching Business
- Interpersonal relationship skills to work with internal and external, groups and organizations and guide the group to do the same
- Capability to handle crisis situations and apply sound judgment to achieve resolution of such occurrences while guiding the group to do the same
- Decision making skills that will enable efficient and effective execution of responsibilities, the capability to handle crisis situations and the application of sound judgment in troubleshooting situations necessary to resolve such instances.
- Ability to guide the group in problem solving activities
- Proven ability to identify areas where the group could improve it’s the execution of their goals and responsibilities and guide the group
- Knowledge of best practice standards regarding the OpenText cloud services
