The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Corporate Infrastructure Services, the Manager of Storage Services will be responsible for traditional storage and backup infrastructure as well as the OpenText emerging hyperconverged environment.  This role focuses on tactical delivery of resources as required by the business while providing strategic leadership to the team in meeting the long-term vision of the organization.


You are great at:

  • Inspiring and leading a global team of skilled storage and backup administrators
  • Developing and applying detailed plans to lead technology shifts and changes
  • Understanding and delivering on business requirements with high quality cost effective solutions
  • Manage department operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources
  • Manage and own and foster direct and third party vendors relationships
  • Provide leadership to ensure the successful integration of acquired companies
  • Oversee the daily operational delivery of services and resource management
  • Participate in the evaluations of technology solutions
  • Mentor and guide staff to promote excellence in all aspects of the job


What it takes:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization with both internal and external counterparts
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills, including leading and coordinating multiple projects, influencing non-direct reports and peers, and ensuring on-time delivery
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to identify and propose new technology solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop staff
  • Deep understanding and technical knowledge of current storage and backup platforms such as NetApp FAS and HCI, Dell Data Domain, Cisco UCS, HP, Hitachi, Pure, Veritas, Nutanix, Veeam
  • Working knowledge of other infrastructure concepts and platforms as they relate to storage and Backup such as OSI model, Security, Backup Methodologies, DR, Compliance and Audit, ITIL, and Change Management
  • 12+ years of experience working within a global Information Technology environment focused on Storage and Backup delivery with at least 6 years managing and leading teams responsible for the same.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related and relevant technology field with advanced degrees being preferred
  • Certifications on any number of related platforms would be an asset
