Sr. A/P Specialist - Card administration

Reporting to the Manager, Accounts Payable, the Sr. AP Specialist is an integral role in delivering Accounts Payable excellence in the Source to Pay Function. He / She will own the administration of credit cards by delivering best-in-class processes and practices, in collaboration with peers and key stakeholders. The Sr. AP Specialist will act as a subject matter expert. He / She will apply their professional experience, reporting, auditing, and customer service skills to successfully resolve escalations and support proactive continuous improvement in the AP function.




  • Responsible for management of day-to-day operations of OpenText global Travel and P-card program
  • Responsible for timely and accurate reconciliation and audit of card transactions submitted by cardholders as per the established Travel and A&A policy to ensure compliance and prevention of fraudulent activities
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and vendors for a seamless process including answering any queries related to Travel and P-card program. Including but not limited to cancellation or credit limit increase
  • Pull and analyze standard metrics for reporting purposes
  • Drive opportunities for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of the business process
  • Perform root cause analysis for issues encountered/feedback received and propose corrective/preventive actions to management
  • Deliver on internal audit requirements
  • Ensure timely payment of card transactions
  • Partner with systems team on testing and support change management as and when required including regulatory requirements by country/region
  • Assist in all acquisition integration activities as assigned by your leader
  • Maintain SOPs or work instructions including updating the policy as and when required
  • Meet/exceed KPI targets set by management
  • Deliver on other assignments as required





  • College Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounts Payable or T&E. Ideally the candidate should be registered in a program leading to an accounting designation.


Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Accounts Payable or T&E/P-Card management
  • Global experience an asset
  • Strong writing, communications, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and influence the right change with key stakeholders
  • Organized with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple activities in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Self-starter and strong team player to learn from your leader and others and teach your peers and others
  • Strong reporting and analytics experience
  • Strong working knowledge with ERP environment, specifically SAP and VIM or other workflow tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (minimum intermediate level)
  • Demonstrated success in negotiation tactics in resolving disputes
  • Second language skill an asset (French, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Nordic)
  • Working towards an Accounting Designation is an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of Accounting principles and P2P/AP processes
