Sr. Cash Applications Administrator

Reporting to the Supervisor, Cash Application, the Cash Application Administrator brings their strong experience in global cash applications to assist our AR function in ensuring we effectively deliver incoming and outgoing cash targets, while maintaining integrity and accuracy in financial transactions and reporting requirements. He/She is a strong team player, working with peers and other AR stakeholders to continuously support best-in-class cash application processes, including process automation and practices.   • Designated point person and accountable for applying the payments to the customer accounts, accurately and timely
  • Identify and resolve exception transactions and prepare or assist in corrections to resolve all errors and exceptions
  • Resolve internal and external customer account inquiries regarding cash applications through prompt analysis and resolution
  • Distribute unapplied cash documentation/items to collectors
  • Research historical cash application activity when needed
  • Ensure payment application accuracy and timeliness per SLA and cash application metrics, including month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities
  • Partner with Banking and Inter-Company teams to ensure all non-AR cash payments are applied appropriately, including completing inter-company cash clearing account reconciliations
  • Act as an SME and provide support to junior Cash Application Administrators to effectively learn all cash management activities
  • Responsible to ensure queue of customer account payment discrepancies are resolved effectively
  • Assist leader and AR peers in maintaining and improving processes and practices for cash management activities, including process automation goals
  • Assist your leader in other project/initiatives as assigned to deliver on best in class processes and practices for the cash application mandate  






  • College/University in an Accounting or Finance related area of study preferred but not mandatory
  • Completion of, or working towards the CCP designation (Credit Institute of Canada) definitely an asset


Skills and Experience:


  • 4+ years demonstrated success working in a commercial cash application function
  • Experience in B2B is preferred
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication at all levels in the organization to resolve customer issues
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with demonstrated success managing multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, Oracle, NetSuite and Microsoft Office products
  • Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Good team player, understanding that you deliver as a team and it is always best when you collaborate to find solutions to problems
  • Demonstrated ability to drive a culture of learning with your peers and help them to be resilient in a continuously changing environment
