Senior Director - Marketing Technology (Martech)

Be part of a winning team that leads the way in Information Management.  The Sr. Director of Marketing Technology will manage the design and deployment of our martech stack, drive the automation of marketing processes and the orchestration of the stack with other functional departments including Product Development, IT, Support and others.  He/she will report in to the VP of Digital Engagement to support the company in delivering an AI driven and journey based digital customer experience for OpenText customers and partners.


Your Responsibilities

  • Manage, recommend, build, integrate and maintain a best-in-class technology stack for B2B customer enagement that enables the tracking and optimization of customer experience programs.
  • Work cross-functionally to evaluate, build and improve the integrations of our marketing automation tools with sales, support and analytics tools.  Ensure two-way data transfer that enables a targeted, personalized and engaging customer experience  that also delivers better customer insights.
  • Define a holistic marketing database strategy that supports data standardization & unification and access across our internal systems and 3rd parties, ensures data quality, and enforces governance and measurement.
  • Monitoring the Martech operations, data flow and quality and reviewing effectiveness and utilization of the technology
  • Create scalable and relevant training and documentation of the marketing systems architecture, the assessment of marketing systems and the development of a multi year, strategic technology roadmap
  • Provide guidance, best practices and governance to decentralized teams on usage of the marketing technology stack to optimally drive business growth.
  • Serving as super-user and product evangelist for a variety of digital tools and provide training and enabling of users.
  • Acting as a liaison to Corporate IT, making technology requests from marketing and ensuring marketing systems adhere to IT policies


You are great at

  • Understanding the key requirements it takes to build a world class B2B digital engagement platform
  • Managing the ongoing, planning, design, and execution of marketing platform, liaising with Technology owners from Support, Sales IT and Product Development to ensure that the platform meets the requirements of customers, partners,  and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay curious, keep current on and be the internal champion for trends, best practices, new tools, and innovation in your space
  • Strong skills in analysing, documenting and communicating complex martech architectures and processes
  • Utilizing your technical experience to successfully deliver complex, large scale web projects to a timeline and on budget.
  • Working at Director/VP level across functions to build a common plan/vision for technology platforms.
  • Managing global remote working teams and/or 3rd party services consultants.


What it takes

  • You have a BA or BS in a technical or Information Systems related field. 
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience deploying/implementing marketing technology, leading or primary contributor to a large scale digital transformation and/or technology based customer experience centric design. 
  • Experience working in a medium/large corporate environment and/or have worked at Digital Agencies or Systems Integrator that supports corporate customers.
  • Strong proficiency in modern marketing technology:
    • Digital Experience platform (such as OpenText TeamSite, Open Text Media Manager, Open Text Optimost or other A/B Testing or other competing solutions such as Adobe Experience Cloud, Sitecore, Acquia)
    • CRM (e.g. Salesforce, SAP CRM)
    • Marketing automation (e.g. Eloqua, Marketo, Pardot, Alyce, PFL, Sendoso)
    • ABM tech (e.g. Engagio, Terminus, Demandbase)
    • Personalization (e.g. Drift, Optimizely)
    • CDP (e.g. Google Query, Tealium, Lattice Engines, Xylotech)
    • Digital Marketing Analytics (Google 360, CrazyEgg)
    • Social Media (e.g. SproutSocial)
  • Deep understanding of marketing technology (e.g. CDP, CMS, CRM), web, social, advertising and e-commerce systems
  • Experience with cloud service integrations based on RESTful API’s
  • Successful track record of delivering technology solutions on time, on budget and able to deliver results
  • Understanding of sales cycles and product lifecycles and their respective pressures on the marketing function to drive demand and revenue
  • Outstanding organization and project management skills, with great attention to detail
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, with a collaborative mindset and a positive attitude
  • Experience designing large-scale cloud, hosted, or hybrid tech architectures including gathering requirements and working across matrix organizations to deliver results
  • A "whatever it takes to get the job done right" attitude
