The Opportunity
You will set a new standard for OpenText Cloud Operations through good communication with your team, with your manager, and your peers. You will have the opportunity to define the technologies to be used, the structure of teams and how work is completed, and responsible for the delivery of pipelines for product development and releases into production. This job requires you be able to work autonomously, in collaboration with others in Cloud Operations as well as Engineering, IT, and Customer Service, and at the direction of the Senior Director of Cloud Service Operations. Because your work will have visibility by other department members and management, frequent communication with your team and others concerning projects and issues is expected.

• Motivate and assist the career development of a team of 5-10 engineers
• Promote technical vision in concert with product and operations architects for the design, implementation and support of applications and services deployed into AWS
• Support existing services from a service management/SRE standpoint
• Focus team on building pipelines to increase the velocity of software delivery following a CI/CD mindset in both on prem and public cloud environments
• Drive a metrics-driven culture and software delivery process using data to measure overall system quality
• Act as Product Owner for development scrums, as well as participating in Scrum of Scrums with the greater product development community
• Collaborate in the planning phase of any new or modified business operation that employs the use of components in your domain of responsibility
• Establish/maintain tool server security guidelines, practices, and department procedures
• Establish/maintain effective customer points of contact (development, infrastructure, teammates) for collaboration and troubleshooting projects related to existing technical issues
• Learn, maintain, improve, and develop new methods of automation to address regular patching, upgrades, and monitoring
• Help develop event management policies and procedures for the company
What It Takes
• 7-12+ years in technical development, QE, or operations role
• Extensive experience with AWS, GCP or Azure and infrastructure as code
• Python, Powershell, and/or Bash experience
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting web server applications
• 2-5 years of experience as a product owner building fully automated software application and infrastructure provisioning and deployment pipelines
• 2-5 years of experience managing engineers with an emphasis on building and scaling teams to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business
• Extensive experience in an iterative development environment and CI/CD practices is a must
• Has a good understanding of system hardware, storage subsystems, and networking and common data protocols and APIs
• Extensive knowledge in the use of Jenkins, TeamCity, TFS/Azure Devops, or similar for orchestration
• Extensive knowledge in the use of GitHub, GitLab, Perforce, or similar for source management
