The Opportunity:
Within the Opentext corporate environment, the Network Security Engineer will be a member of a greater network security team responsible for the global enterprise network security and all facets that make up a typical enterprise network security environment. The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for implementations and operational maintenance and support of various technologies and products as typical of an enterprise global environment; these technologies include but not limited to the following:
What You Are Great At:
- General networking knowledge as relates to the OSI model with emphasis on the security layers and protocols relating to each.
- Knowledge of SNMP, Syslog, AAA, IP Super/subnetting, DHCP, NTP, QoS, and NetFlow as they relate to security enhancement and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of Cisco routers switches firewalls and wireless components and related security functions such as rule sets, access lists, policy maps, route spoof detection, root bridging, ARP flooding, MAC spoofing detection.
- Checkpoint firewalls and associated feature sets.
- Fortinet firewalls and associated feature sets.
- Palo Alto firewalls and associated feature sets.
- Cisco AnyConnect VPN client setup and management.
- Cisco ISE with an understanding of certificate-based authentication, profiling, and posturing.
- Security layers/products as they tie into Cisco networking, voice, and video components.
- Candidate should be familiar with ITIL methodology and change management.
What it takes to excel:
- Candidate must have at least 3 years of experience.
- Candidate experience should be within a medium to large enterprise.
- Candidate experience should have been broad and covering multiple disciplines within the security field.
- The candidate is preferred to have worked within a global team in his prior role.
- The candidate should be experienced in developing technical documentation with diagrams.
- Candidate should exhibit ability to work independently, think and act responsibly and display good work ethics.
- Candidate should be able to demonstrate organizational, communication and attention to detail skills.
