The Opportunity:

 

OpenText is looking for strong candidates to be part of a diverse team having responsibility for the ongoing management and expansion of their SAP suite of ERP applications. This is an opportunity to work on support and expansion projects on their SAP S4 and related SAP technologies.  

 

The Senior SAP Basis Admin role is to manage all aspects of the SAP landscape. Administrative functions may include upgrades, system/component installation, installation of patches and Support pack stacks, landscape maintenance, transport management, performance monitoring, troubleshooting issues. Responsible for BASIS functions and responsibilities related to sustainment teams several SAP systems types, including ECC, BW, PI, Portal, Solution Manager, GRC, Business Objects and Data Services.

 

What You Are Great At:

 

The successful candidate will be part of a SAP ERP Technical team and have the following responsibilities:   

 

  • Participate/Lead Blueprint and design workshops with Business and IT leads
  • Identifies risk levels and recommends and implements corrective/preventive actions. Maintains history reports, identifies and addresses reoccurring problems.
  • Work with Application and Technical teams to solve day to day operations incidents and requests
  • Responsible to help support installations, upgrades and configuration of multiple SAP systems, databases and associated technologies
  • Partner with other application administrators and infrastructure teams to ensuring that all systems meeting company standards for security, availability, and performance.

 

What It Takes To Excel:

 

The successful Senior SAP Basis Administrator will have the following Core Requirements:

 

 

  • Designs application architecture specific to SAP technologies for solution integration. Should have worked in an environment where multiple non-SAP applications are interfaced.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills in researching and solving technical problems related to operating system, databases and applications
  • Develops processes and oversees the installation for upgrades and patches for the enterprise SAP system. Creates and oversees all necessary technical checklists to ensure completion of upgrades. Oversees the coordination of system-wide updates, fixes, and upgrades.
  • Should have good understanding of the business processes, ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish multiple tasks, both as part of a team and independently
  • Good communication skills and must be able to work collaboratively with system users and other technical colleagues. Experience in SAP ERP, S4 HANA experience is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of hands on experience with SAP.
