The Opportunity: 

 

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Tax Consolidation and Reporting, the Tax Manager, Consolidation will become part of a growing tax department, supporting the global consolidated income tax accounting and reporting function.

 

What It Takes:

 

  • Working closely with the broader global tax team to provide direction and support on income tax reporting
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual global consolidated income tax provision reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Quantify the primary drivers of the company’s effective tax rate
  • Support SOX compliance processes
  • Assist with preparation of internal and external tax-related financial information and disclosures to be included in SEC filings and related reporting to Management
  • Liaise with external tax auditors
  • Assist with research and documentation of income tax accounting methods and tax processes
  • Assist with Canadian tax compliance
  • Keep up-to-date on USGAAP accounting changes and their impact on the global tax provision and tax compliance
  • Work extensively and build relationships with other departments, specifically External Reporting
  • Assist with tax analysis and modelling required for tax planning initiatives and special projects as requested
  • Support various process improvement initiatives through use of technology and innovation

 

You Are Great At: 

 

  • Knowledge of ASC 740 and Canadian corporate income tax principles
  • Solid Knowledge of Longview, SAP, and BPC reporting tools is an asset
  • 3+ years of tax accounting experience either in practice or industry.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong track record of building and maintaining strong cross functional relationships
  • Ability to identify issues and opportunities and call upon organizational resources to develop solutions
  • Ability to adapt to and support change  
  • CPA designation and the completion of CICA In-Depth I, II & III or international equivalent is an asset
