Temporary Lead Revenue Recognition Analyst (12-18 Months)

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Revenue Recognition Team is seeking a Lead Revenue Recognition Analust to support the world-wide revenue recognition activities to ensure that all internal and external reporting commitments are met in a timely manner.  This role will collaborate with various cross-functional teams including Billing Operations, Sales, and Deal Desk to ensure consistent application of rev rec policy. 
 

YOU ARE GREAT AT:

•    Review contracts to ensure revenue is recognized in compliance with ASC 606
•    Calculate POC revenue on professional services engagements
•    Perform the month-end/quarter-end close activities related to revenue recognition
•    Prepare journal entries including SSP allocation in compliance with our policy 
•    Maintain deferred revenue schedules for assigned entities 
•    Partner with Billing Operations and Finance to research and resolve revenue fluctuations 
•    Prepare GL account reconciliations
•    Participate in SOX testing as needed
•    Prepare materials for internal and external audit requirements and respond to audit inquiries
•    Ad hoc projects and analysis to answer business questions and opportunities
•    Continuous improvement mindset to identify improved revenue recognition processes


WHAT IT TAKES:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
•    Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in finance and/or accounting
•    Experience with Revenue Recognition (ASC 606) is strongly desired 
•    Experience working in technology, specifically software and cloud related businesses, an asset
•    Excellent data analysis skills 
•    Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
•    Experience working with SAP and SFDC, an asset
•    Team player with good interpersonal skills
•    Proactive approach to problem solving
•    Strong work ethic and follow-through
•    Detail oriented
