At OpenText, we believe in making our hiring process transparent, inclusive, and efficient - so you know what to expect every step of the way. 

Whether you are applying for your first job or your next big career move, here is how the process works.

Our Talent Acquisition team carefully reviews every application. We assess your qualifications and experience to determine how well they align with the role. If we see a strong match, we will reach out to schedule the next steps. Even if you are not selected during this round, we encourage you to apply again in the future.

If your background aligns well with the role, the process usually begins with one or two brief phone or video conversations with a Talent Acquisition Advisor, who will be your main point of contact throughout the hiring journey. They'll guide you through the next steps and introduce you to the OpenText team members you'll be meeting along the way. This conversation helps us learn more about your background, goals, and interest in OpenText. It is also your chance to ask questions about the role, team, and company culture.

Interview invitations will include a robust interview guide to help you prepare. The process may involve multi-level or panel interviews, and you can expect to meet with the hiring manager and potential teammates. Interviews take place virtually and/or in person, depending on the role and location. Our interviews are structured to be collaborative and focused - we want to understand your problem-solving approach, communication style, and technical or functional expertise.

For some roles, especially in technical or specialized fields, you may be asked to complete an assessment, case study, or white board session. This step helps us get a deeper understanding of how you think and approach real-world challenges.

If you are selected, congratulations! Your recruiter will walk you through the offer details, answer questions, and discuss start dates. Before your offer is finalized, we'll conduct a reference check and background check as part of our standard hiring process. Once you accept your offer, our onboarding team will make sure you have everything you need for a smooth transition into your new role at OpenText.

At least one of your interviews will be on video, so take some time to install Microsoft Teams and prepare your surroundings. Find a quiet place with a stable internet connection, so you won't be disturbed. Turn your camera on and check what can be seen in the backgroud. Before the interview, please make sure that your mic, video, and Wi-Fi connection are working properly.

We advise that you dress the same as you would for a face-to-face interview. At OpenText, our recommended dress code is "smart-casual."

We will reach out to you as quickly as possible after the interview to provide a status update. If you don't hear from us within a few days after your interview, please contact your recruiter.

Preparation is key. Start by researching OpenText and the people you'll be meeting—this will help you feel more confident and make a strong impression. Revisit the job description to understand the role's responsibilities and think about how your skills align. Be ready to walk interviewers through your CV and clearly articulate how your experience connects to the role and your career goals. Finally, prepare thoughtful questions to ask during the interview—it shows you're engaged and genuinely interested in the opportunity.

After applying for your first job at OpenText, you will receive an email to create your Talent Central profile. After creating your profile, you can check the status of your application from there.
